That’d be great, if they had any content. They’re about on par with Paramount plus in my mind. Which I’m also never going to pay for.
At least Paramount has all the Star Trek shows.
So do torrent sites.
True, but I like to feel like I’m supporting Strange New Worlds and Lower Decks. I’ll usually torrent but get a month of Paramount+ to also run up the viewership.
Most of the Star Trek shows. Bring back Prodigy, Paramount.
And the new Beavis and Butthead series. It’s a shame it will likely be cancelled yet again for being on the wrong network.
Is it any good? Does it follow the same music video format as the original?
My wife and I cracked up at it the whole time. They still do videos but instead of music videos, it’s stupid YouTube videos that they make fun of. It’s worth checking out. Way funnier than anticipated.
Thanks, I’ll check it out.
The quality varies wildly. The one where Beavis talks to Fire in a dumpster is excellent.
Ya, I’d probably watch more old trek episodes if they didn’t have commercials.
Oh that’s right! They added commercials in-between episodes. What a bunch of pendejos.
Commercials on Paramount Plus? I definitely don’t have that on mine, is it a US thing?
I get the same 30 sec commercial for Strange New Worlds every time I start any Trek episode, but no other ads

Whoop de fucking doo
Well la-de-fricken-da!
Paramount plus has Nickelodeon, so it’s actually pretty good if you have kids.
I only have it because it comes included with Walmart+, but it’s gotten more use than I ever expected it would.
Yeah, there was a time when it was essential for the little ones. They needed that Paw Patrol
I used to have Paramount Plus for Big Brother before I got tired of it, it’s good for that “reality” genre. Also nice to have a news channel which is not an offering on the larger streaming networks.
My family had paramount plus for a year (or maybe six months?) through T-Mobile. I think we watched one movie on it the whole time.
Paramount+ has all the Star Trek. Too bad their app doesn’t ever actually let me watch any of it so I pirate it anyway. 😬
Workaholics, star trek and Nickelodeon. I watched more of that than any other Netflix for a couple of weeks. I’m also interested in the Frasier show, hopefully it is decentm
I picked them up a few months ago so I could watch Clerks 3 and Ghostbusters Afterlife. Then I ended up watching Spartacus, Ash vs Evil Dead, and Outlander. There’s a few other things on there I’d like to see, but I don’t think it’s enough to justify a yearly subscription considering how little TV I watch. Once they have John Wick 4 and I get through that, then I’ll probably cancel.
Is Black Sails still Starz? If so, give that a watch if you’re into pirate/privateer genre.
Why pay for any streaming services when you can stream pretty much anything for free here https://fmovies.to/
That usually happens when people don’t want what you’re selling.
What? Market forces actually having an impact on pricing?
Say it ain’t so!
This means… they were able to do this all along but chose not to because they weren’t forced to. Huh. Funny that. I’m always told businesses need to charge the prices they do to stay afloat.
If by “afloat” you mean “a flotilla”, then yes.
I had no idea what stars was streaming so I looked them up. Never heard of most of these shows. I think I know why they had to drop the price.
This is the best summary I could come up with:
Starz has lowered its annual subscription price from $74.99 a year to $69.99, Cord Cutters first reported and TechCrunch later confirmed.
Starz emailed its subscribers the news on August 29th, explaining existing members will see the change in price on their next bill.
It’s not clear why Starz, which is home to TV shows like Outlander, The Serpent Queen, and Minx, made the move, but it’s a welcome one.
Meanwhile, Paramount Plus increased the price of its monthly plan back in late June.
You could read that change as part of a greater strategy to entice customers into paying more upfront for the annual plan.
Regardless of why the annual plan is cheaper, if you’re the type to set up a subscription and forget about it for a few years, this is a win.
The original article contains 257 words, the summary contains 133 words. Saved 48%. I’m a bot and I’m open source!

Seems pretty obvious within the sentence itself.
Minx is a top notch show. I did not care for Outlander but many people like it.
Nice.
Oh cool! Wait, I don’t actually want Starz. Thanks anyway.
I just cancelled mine after binging Outlander twice in a row, didn’t find anything else interesting there
You can stream pretty much anything for free here: https://fmovies.to/
Just make sure you’re using ublock origin.
For now. They will raise it again months later
The pirate bay price has been rock solid for decades now
Lol $70, fuckouttahere
Per year, that’s still cheaper than most of their competition by far.
Not cheaper than the plethora of sites you can use to watch things for free. Lol.
Not everyone defaults to piracy when things are priced sanely.
Yeah. Only people with more sense than wealth spend their money wisely.
Suckers on the other hand are glad to pay for things they could get for free just to make rich people richer.
Or, people with enough money are happy for convenience over the headache and risk of piracy. But I get your point.
If everyone did that, there wouldn’t be any shows to pirate. Don’t shit on the people that are allowing these shows to exist.
I’m sorry you believe that.
I mean, at least that’s the ANNUAL rate, which comes to less than six dollars per month! If Netflix were that cheap, I wouldn’t have cancelled their account with me.
Per year.
Starz itself increased monthly subscription costs from $8.99 to $9.99 just a few months ago.
It is interesting that the annual is so much cheaper.
So many people buy one month for a show they want and then cancel I think lol
i think that’s gonna become the norm as prices keep going up and up… hopping from service to service. binge. switch. repeat. maybe a month ‘off’ here and there.
i’m still on hiatus from paid services here. been nearly a year since my last paid ‘month’ anywhere. tubi, pluto and rokuchannel have been ‘good enough’–i don’t even miss the subs at this point.
Gross. Why don’t they just watch it on a free streaming website?
My guess is payment platform fees, when you only need to make 1 payment a year that could save $0.30 x 11 or $3.30 a year in fees (assuming they use stripe).
You either hate Stars or don’t understand that’s cheaper than any other streaming company.
Don’t get me wrong I don’t know a dang thing about them but for 5.99 I would be willing to try it for a month.
To get that $6/month price you need to commit for a year.
I remember when their VOD was first a thing maybe 10-15 years ago back when my parents had cable. They had a pretty decent selection, they just didn’t rotate content too often. No idea where they’re at now though.
Yeah it’s fixing Starz. You know…I expect this from the writers, but you idiots posting this crap is sad. It’s just karma farming bullshit.
What Karma?

Ah, yes, the checks OP’s stats 0 karma they got from this because karma isn’t a thing here.
