its not a schooner, it’s a sailboat you idiot!
Fuck yeah. I’m in man. That is damn near my favorite color. You got the touch. Always nice to meet good ass people.
I also have fond memories of those AOL days. When we knew it was real people we were interacting with. What a world of difference now. Glad you made it here! Cheers.
Agreed. The past year has been a great change from other social media personally. I was Reddit only for the prior 7 or so years and Lemmy feels like a time hop back to pre-dystopic Internet days. I approach it more like my favorite forums from the 90’s-00’s.
Less content and users are ok when it leads to more civil engagement’s.
I’m a big advocate for PopOS. Especially as an Nvidia user.
as they are privacy focused and have significantly fewer users, not yet.
but, the more users contributing and making requests, the sooner it could be integrated.
you can help by being one of those users!
wallbase/wallhaven as well
This is a huge hit to desktop ownership of the OS. Microsoft has officially made zero-trust a reality by doing this.
I expect there will be even more news at Ignite. Bear in mind 11 has been requiring a MS account for years and 10 is in it’s final months. Pushing users to cloud only Windows allows them (and their corporate customers) complete control of the ecosystem.
They (I use that term to mean the average 4channer) were co-opted by alt right propaganda.
Most neckbeard, incel, Andrew Tate followers are what Anon originally was. We just lied to ourselves that it wasn’t really racist and that we were fighting a good fight.
Now, its a bunch of sad lonely people that found acceptance in intolerance and hatred.
commenting for tracking. I’ve been searching for the same.
How can they be in tech when they deny science and believe in mythology?
I’m the cash-shop-anocerous. All my microtransactions bleed your wallet like a phlebotomus.
can report UEFI installs of PopOS and Mint were recently borked by a Win11 update.
It does send a “your safety number has been updated with user” message. But not as an automated message. Only when a new signal thread is started.
Haven’t tried when only logged in to desktop and changing devices / numbers so I can’t speak to that.
I often figure it’s google bias and / or people trying to impose their threat models on other people.
Been using proton for quite a while with a few custom domains and am impressed with the service to price of their offerings.
We can one off use cases with any vendor, but at the end of the day, they offer a more secure out of the box experience than just about any other platform out there. If someone is doing illicit shit and gets popped, it’s not on the service provider to provide air cover for them. Improve your opsec or self host.
Big concern with your number being recycled and a new user receiving the signal activation key on that number.
The barrier to entry is pretty low anymore for Linux. There’s some really helpful communities here as well. I’ve ran various versions as secondary OS’es since the early 00’s and can pretty confidentially say, its never been easier.
PopOS, Mint and even Ubuntu are super easy to get up and running and Proton makes gaming a breeze like never before.
My wife and I had and interesting pandemic that required a lot of travel unfortunately.
We gamed almost exclusively on Stadia while doing so and it was near flawless. I know it’s meme for Google to kill things but man did that one really sting.
GeForce Now, PS Whatever and Xbox Cloud all aren’t there when it comes to how immediate Stadia felt. I’ll forever be bummed that they didn’t hold out for a few more years until mainstream adoption.
