I would like to know if you think Oct 7th, or Hezbollah launching rockets into Israel on Oct 8th (or any of the many other dates) is terrorism as well. Or if using civilians as human shields is a legitimate tactic. Again, I 100% agree that Israel has gone way too fucking far, but I don’t agree that one side is assholes and the other side is saints. It’s that scene in Spaceballs, I’m surrounded by assholes.

I like command line stuff, so I use newsboat for the reader, and then yt-boat to download. yt-boat uses yt-dlp as it’s backend, but I’ve never had a problem with yt-dlp not downloading or asking for credentials though.

Do you have things on the external that precludes you formatting it? You aren’t doing it too often, so a tarball might work, but you’ll be wasting a lot of time doing it that way. Then again, if it’s once a month, that doesn’t seem like a huge deal. I just use rsync now and then for my external backup and it doesn’t take long at all.

I’m kind of out of date with modern Linux stuff, but can’t you throw that in the .xsessionsrc or .xinitrc file?

Config an RSS reader for the channels you follow on youtube. Watch the videos locally after downloading them. That’s what I do.

It seems like every other captcha I get has a picture of a moped and asks to click for a motorcycle. When I don’t click on the moped it says I’m wrong. Pisses me off.

I can’t remember the last time I bought a PC. I just incrementally upgrade over the years. I would be disappointed if they came out with a PC that only ran with their flavor though.

16 hour shifts are bullshit. 12 hour shifts are bullshit. I did those hours when I was in my 20s, but I don’t think I got anything out of it but resentment towards society. I certainly couldn’t pull those hours when I got older, and add a family on top of it. Jesus. It’s not like firefighters who work crazy shifts, but sleep and work out for a majority of their “shift”.
