Who says you can’t check their outputs? It’s much faster to e. g. read a generated text than to write everything yourself. Same applies to translations, they’ve been excellent for quite a while now.
Business communication can be handled effortlessly by AI. Of course you read the result before you send it out, but that takes an order of a magnitude less time than formulating and typing all those meaningless sentences.
And honestly, that’s a perfect use case for AI. I wouldn’t compose a love letter to my family using AI, but a pamphlet, feature description, sales pitch, any bullshit presentation deck? You bet AI excels at those.
Same applies to content summaries that help augment search indices. Finding a large number of content candidates (e. g. videos) and have AI summarize the contents of said videos to narrow down the search is helpful and works today.

Those numbers are baseless exaggerations. There are plenty of tasks which they solve perfectly, today. It’s just that a bunch of dicks operate them, and the cost of operating them are way too high.

Sure. It’s just that I determined the same effect could be achieved by a preprogrammed cycle of ventilation and misting - no closed loop needed, as the conditions in the cultivation chamber do not vary enough to warrant the setup.
Funny enough, I also used Sensirion sensors for mushroom cultivation, even had a mobile dashboard using MQTT dash.
After a couple of years, I went back to basic “gardening” to focus on the essentials, but it was interesting for a while. Unless going commercial, I do not consider the sensors to have added significant value beyond providing an interesting side project.
Once you have figured it out, it’s actually a nice workflow. Don’t get me wrong, when I’m not publishing a paper, I quickly forget all commands, my whole setup etc. and start from scratch, cursing a lot and retracing my steps in the history, basically re-learning the framework. I’d still never move away from ggplot2.

Check if your solder contains flux. Often, you will want to apply additional flux manually anyway.
But, most importantly: it looks like you’re trying to touch the hot iron with your solder (or vice versa). Don’t do that. Use the iron to heat up the wire and then touch the solder to the wire and let it wick up once sufficiently hot. However, you will want to have a bit of melted solder on the tip of your iron to enhance heat conductivity.
As others have said, pre-tin your wires before connecting them to anything.
