  • I assume the route calculations happen on device as they work in offline mode, but that doesn’t explain sending me the objectively slower way when it knows what the traffic is like

Also my alternate route passes more businesses, meaning it’s not some “well advertise to him” bullshit

I turned OFF the “prefer eco routed” setting thinking it might be that, but no dice

  • Yeah, about 2 months ago I noticed it no longer recommending a slightly alternate route on my way to work that lets me bypass a potentially 20-minute red light (bad light timing)

If I turn and do it myself it goes “oh shit you right” and gives me an updated ETA and shows the route, but it WONT show the expected slowdown anymore and WONT even suggest the alternate route

I never wasn’t insulting them directly, their points are so stupid and ridiculous that I didn’t ever even bother arguing them because that would be a waste of my time

Better to point and laugh at the person who refuses to learn than to waste my time trying to teach them

I see that you’re only able to argue using words when discussing the Thanksgiving turkey

Yeah, your other points were so beyond stupid they can only be laughed at

You’re the kind of vegan people point to when they say all vegans are lunatics with 0 basic brain functionality

There’s no way a person who bases their decisions on scientific thinking would eat corpses

    Lawl

person who bases their decisions on scientific thinking would determine killing is bad

    LMAO

the thanksgiving turkey, which is served in the literal shape of its corpse rather than being butchered or processed

Right, because turkeys are naturally headless and featherless with their wings and legs tied up. Totally no processing going on at all with them

    is a ritual sacrifice

You don’t kill a live turkey during thanksgiving, it’s not a fucking sacrifice

  • My parents both openly smoked weed in front of my from a young age. I was told that as long as I was home by curfew and didn’t come home in a cop car they were fine with me doing basically whatever cuz they knew I wasn’t a complete moron (my dad worked in the school system and knew all the ACTUAL problem children really well, they hated me because of that so I never got to be a hoodlum lol), though my nugs WERE taken from me at 15 because “you were dumb enough to let us catch you with it” which is fair but I say they were out and bumming off of me without saying so lol

As for sex I got a quick talk about using a condom after my dad caught my GF and I doing it, but otherwise it was left mostly unsaid cuz my sex Ed wasnt trash

  • This woman died only because she was honest with her doctor about her alcohol use

No, and it even says so in the article

She quit about 5 months before her death when transplants require 6-12 months of sobriety. She was drinking regularly with the fucked up liver before that diagnosis, and liver damage isn’t something that just suddenly appears.

She kept drinking despite what would have been intense cramping pain and a slow death, thats why she was denied (addiction) and ultimately died

Note that the article says her partner was a compatible donor but the system refused to accept him because she used alcohol

And as the article also says it’s incredibly dangerous for someone to get a live-donor transplant when they’re in bad shape like she was, as failure of that means they’ll need to let her die on-table or transplant a good dead one into her (which she was denied for, due to her drinking)

It’s sad, but this woman died to alcohol abuse, pure and simple

  • I recall reading somewhere that less than 5 years is the average time it takes for most individual works to earn the majority of its value, tapering off from there

    So I’d probably do a 2-tier system:

Tier 1: independent civilians. After 5 years any normal civvie can take your work and use it without your permission to do whatever they want with it

Tier 2: Companies. Life of the author. For as long as the original creator is alive no company can ever use their work without permission

  • couldn’t do much without being the slog A Realm Reborn was.

I agree with everything else you said, but not this. I’ve seen multiple people write out different mild rewrites of areas and bits of the story to make it more interesting, and it wouldn’t have been much more work to flesh out the MSQ into more than just “go here talk to person” to the extreme it was. It didn’t have to be a slog

Hell, had they just picked between the two completely different stories in this expansion (hi Stormblood critique from 2017) and kept with that for the whole epac they could have produced something far less of a slog at least, and actually really GREAT at best (just look at the content design after all)

Shit my queue just popped I’m off to fight THE BEST BEE GIRL EVERRRRR
