Ugh, who has time for that? I need all of my waking hours to be devoted to increasing work productivity and consuming products. Computers can feel my pesky feelings for me now.
True, but meat-based hot dogs are typically fully cooked and so only need to be warmed, too… Grilling is just kind of a fun activity for me, and it adds a little snap and smoky flavor that you can’t get by boiling them. That said, grilled veggie dogs were a little different, but still pretty good!
They’re from “Morning Star Farms,” though I was careful to only say that they taste right, haha – They don’t plump up when cooked, and are prone to scorching in spots on the grill. But the flavor is spot on!
Same here. I tried out blackbean burgers, plant-based hot dogs, tofu and almond milk in my last couple of grocery runs, just to see what’s up. Turns out I really like tofu as a substitute for ground beef, and the veggie dogs tasted just like all beef franks to me. And none of these things were any more expensive than meat, so that’s also a big plus.
No rea$on at all, except for that one little rea$on that we alway$ $eem to keep coming back to…
Dunno if this helps you at all, but I’ve been using BitWarden to manage my passwords since I made the switch from Chrome to Firefox (both on PC and my Android phone). It doesn’t fill passwords automatically in either case, but it’s not much extra work to invoke BitWarden to fill those fields as-needed on either device, and it works very consistently. It’s also (I’m told) much more secure. Just thought I’d share that here!
I live real close to the house he lived in when he was a kid. There’s even a “Riders on the Storm Inn” here in town… 😌 I don’t know a lot about the man that he was and I’m too young to have seen The Doors play, though I really enjoy “People Are Strange,” and a few other songs of theirs. I’m glad he found a way out of this place, though, even if it was only for a short time.
For what it’s worth, I agree with you about Lemmy (and Reddit) not really qualifying as “social media.” I think of it more as a spectrum than a binary value…
And just to split hairs even a little more, I think Lemmy is more palatable* than Reddit for me, by virtue of the smaller (and generally more tech-savvy) user base.

For the same reasons that everything else is “enshittified” – It’s produced by people seeking maximum profits for minimum effort, and consumed by people who aren’t discerning enough to care.
