I never used those apps. But generally didn’t like the treatment of the communities by the admins. At least here, I can and do swap around between them to avoid those admin. The mods were rarely an issue on either platform ime. I got a temp ban on one community here and given what people thought I was saying and the purpose of the community, I think it was deserved.
The IRS says you have to report illegal income and pay taxes on them.
The US government provides weapons for the genocide.
One of the main campuses in the protests is opening a campus in Israel, which students are opposing until Israel ends genocide and apartheid.
Many of the campuses donate money to or have partnerships with candidates and organizations that are also complicit in the genocide.
Of course Israel isn’t going to stop genocide because a bunch of college students in the US don’t like it. But that doesn’t mean students have to sit idly as their tuition dollars go to fund genocide.
When I was making that kind of money, I still saved way more than 5%. Granted, after inflation, it is like $11.50 now. Still, 10% would have been pretty easy. 20% would be possible if I didn’t blow money on things like spend $3K on a bike for hobby use. Also, that’s assuming you don’t have unexpected expenses. I lived somewhere where having a car wasn’t necessary, so that made a huge different in budgeting. And when I needed surgery, I was lucky with insurance. Otherwise, that could have easily have eaten up the savings I had.
So 15% is definitely possible… with lots of luck and good circumstances.
People with money usually don’t keep it as plain money though. On average, if you just invest it in S&P500 (assuming historical returns), it’ll be worth at least 4 million after adjusting for inflation after 30 years. 3 million dollars reward for having 1 million dollars. But even if you’re like a gold-standard fanatic and just put it in gold, the same applies.
Al capone was arrested for tax evation. I think one of the famous serial killers or mass murderers got caught because they were pulled over for something like speeding (granted, they probably would have been caught eventually anyways, but it happened a lot quicker).
Long-term consequences can be fun if you make it so. /hj
Sounds more like a way to make almost everyone annoyed. All the text would be more awkward for every player, so people who don’t care about NB pronouns would justifiably be annoyed: it would actually be a case of identity politics making a product clearly worse (granted, it would be conservative identity politics that caused it), unlike all the times conservatives get mad because minorities exist in media sometimes. And NBs would know the dev put in more work to change all lines of text to remove all personal pronouns just to avoid adding another option for them. It would be a much more direct “fuck you” than doing nothing at all.
I wish English did not overuse pronouns (personal or otherwise) because of the ambiguity and misunderstandings caused by pronouns, but if its gonna change its going to have to start with people changing how they use the language, not some 8 year old game to try to shoehorn in.
Arguments made in bad faith (such as that made by Sawzall) deserve any ridicule. ¯\(ツ)/¯
How dare thou use “you” as a singular for Sawzall. He/she/xi/fae/ze/whatever clearly identify with 1000-year old English. What would someone do with verbs after singularly “you”? Put plural verbs like “are” there? Would be ridiculous.
Depends how you read the “and”, it is only a statement about those who are “trans AND nonbinary”, not “trans OR nonbinary”. Would be a weird choice of wording though. Not sure how many people would consider themselves in the group of non-binary and not trans, but certainly lots of agender people consider themselves not trans, but those same people I think typically don’t consider themselves non-binary either and typically wouldn’t care that much about pronouns to begin with. Also doubt there are many binary trans people who use pronouns that aren’t the default for their binary gender (ie: women who use he/him or neopronouns. Maybe xenopronouns among furries? But like I feel like a lot of those people mostly do it as a criticism of the institution of gender and don’t actually take them serious?).
Anyways, agreed they just seem to be trying to be over-the-top with the wording, but understandable that someone making a petition would feel pressured to write like that. Would be nice to see body-type and pronouns (in games that use them) be separate settings as default in all games. We’ve been able to name our rival “Dickface” since '96. Doesn’t seem like much to ask for similar control of our own character’s pronouns.
Jesus maybe? At church during the Christmas service. Accidentally dropped it. No clue how much it was worth, but I don’t remember breaking particularly expensive things.
Super weaners can still be cute I’m sure.
Abbott doesn’t strike me as the type who can chew bubble gum and walk at the same time, metaphorically speaking.
Before seriously questioning whether I was cis or not, I specifically looked up autism gender because I’ve long thought I’m too autistic for gender. But since I don’t have an official diagnosis, I never considered using the autigender label and just didn’t think about that for a while longer. I always found it a bit strange that other autistic people could be binary trans because of my own disconnect from gender. Allistic cis people caring about gender was always weird too, but like. They’re allistic. They’re gonna be weird. Why would autistic people go out of their way to embrace the charade of gender? At least teenage me still didn’t use my confusion as a reason to be transphobic.
Gotta wonder if this type of thing is partly an attempt to undermine public schools to shovel more money towards for-profit schools. Or if it really just is culture-war BS to try to appeal to his base…
Great seeing exploration to be encouraged. Fear of being “ammunition” for transphobes has definitely been something that’s held me back. I don’t know have any solid gender identity and don’t think I want one. Finally decided to try out HRT and I’m grateful for the existence of informed consent. Still not sure what my goals are or if its a good decision, but I think I’d rather find out by giving it a try and think it will be a valuable experiment regardless of the outcome. I intended to come out to a few more people before starting HRT, but was never sure what I’d be coming out as and didn’t want to get put into narrower boxes based on whatever that was. Guess now I can come out as someone taking HRT?
Wish we could be at the point where things HRT and other surgeries currently labeled “gender-affirming care” were considered more like getting a tattoo or other cosmetic surgeries respectively such it was more normalized and more people, cis or trans, could have access to them if they want. Why should someone have to figure out something as nebulas as gender to know what sort of body they want?
When you’re clients are a handful of companies who will more aggressively change insurers than consumers to save a penny and have their own legal teams, it becomes harder to price gouge or illegally deny claims.
Also sometimes how having a body feels like.
