I don’t understand the banking comment, and I’ve seen it several times. Don’t other people’s banks have web portals? Other than maybe depositing a check remotely, are there features you actually need a native banking app for?

It seems awkward to me to refer to the previous century that way until you’re at least halfway through the next century. Even then, that’s pushing it. Basically I think that way of referring to an era implies you’re over, or at least fairly close to, 100 years away from it.

I do this too, but I realize I’m privileged to be able to. In past jobs people actually would get pissed at me for doing it. I had a manager have a really shitty talk with me about it once. I’d guess a lot of people have bad experiences like that

I always hear people shitting on Bethesda and praising mods, but I played the fallout and elder scrolls games years ago (never modded) and absolutely loved them so it’s always confusing to me. The comments in one of the cross post threads, at least earlier, were all shitting on fallout.

Exactly. As a developer, the complexity of that engine blows me away. It’s a miracle they got as solid as they did honestly. If these critics are developers, they’re either lacking in empathy or they’re the kind of prodigy who cannot even comprehend the inability to think about such insanely complex systems with ease
