The whole idea of windows 11 made me switch to Linux, already unhappy with windows 10 but that was bearable for me.
Sucks that I work in windows though.

Of course it’s the website fault, but just like government don’t let companies do whatever they want (all the time) the have to force websites to not do certain things, a warning certainly doesn’t do much when people keep clicking “accept”.
It’s the EU’s fault that there is that warning in the pages(which is what the OP is talking about in how clean websites are) a warning that doesn’t fix the real problem, just puts a sign on it.
“WET FLOOR!” instead of fixing the leaking pipe.
Of course, the problem is they shouldn’t have gone for a warning, they should have gone against the practice of having 800 partners, or do we think the average user clicks “refuse”?
What they did is almost like nothing with extra steps.

Thank the European bureaucrats that don’t understand technology.
Please do Europe next
Did the same on my desktop computer two weeks ago, everything else is already on Linux (servers and laptops).
I am fed up on Microsoft shenanigans with windows.
2026 isn’t soon.

The self hosted movement should be bigger!
Start? Did we ever stop?
Motorola phones for me and my family, they are reliable and work. At work they give me Samsung phones I guess that knox things sells to companies.
Think of a project you want to do, seek how to do it and do it, then break it and fix it.
I am very happy with them, they are not without issues as I said they lack A LOT in the update department but I can’t live without their gestures anymore, I know they are apps now but I have been using Motorola since the Moto X Play, and I buy Motorola for my family,
Also they have one of the smaller smartphones with the Motorola Edge 30 Neo and I really appreciate it.
Also awesome battery
Motorola makes unbloated android phones with stock android and their gestures are really good. But they lack in the updating department.

Overwhelming people with information doesn’t work, never worked. Do you think the majority of people in Europe care about accepting all the consents that come up when they open a web page? Incidentally they don’t come up when they open the web through their phone application, which is what majority of people browse.
The EU legislators don’t know tech, and don’t understand people. I am pro-eu like most of my countrymen but it’s absurd not to critize some of their choices, even if they have good intentions.
It doesn’t really change, the same people are voted over and over and over like in most democracies. To some extend the EU is even antidemocratic, since people don’t really have a saying in who’s the president.
Don’t forget that the EU is controlled by people who know NOTHING about technology. Case in point: the cookies.
An AI can’t be controlled by corporations, an AI will control corporations.
You are a fool because no helmet can protect you from a projectile that crossed space, survived entrance in the atmosphere. All that just to hit you
My tip is don’t obsess too much about if you’ll find replacement for this software or that software, the moment you’ll need it you’ll try and you will definitively find alternatives BUT it will take time to get used to it and it’s the way it is.
The more you stay on the new system the easier it will be. I switched my desktop recently and I had the temptation of going back but I stuck to it and now I don’t have the temptation, but I need windows for stupid whatsapp videocalls though (there are alternatives but the other person isn’t tech savvy and I want to make things easier)
