It’s the tidal current throwing the swimmer around. They swam along the same heading the entire time.

Anthropic’s Claude tried and the results were gloriously, hilariously badEnglish25·3 months agoBoilerplate code is where it rocks. The syntax for that API function you use once every 5 years and no way remember, it’s got you covered. It can knock out helper functions like a boss too. Nothing complex, that takes too long to fix, but the text filter and type conversion stuff is quicker than typing them out yourself.
Ahhh! High school flash backs, NOOOO

Because the only thing Ford makes right are trucks, and trucks make shitty EVs.

Skyrmir@lemmy.worldto Technology@lemmy.world•Taiwan’s chip plants run on migrant workers. Job brokers run their livesEnglish5·4 months agoI think the story neuromancer had workers who would show up have their brain chip turn them into meat puppets for 8 hours then they would wake up not knowing what they had done to earn their checks. It was a cheap labor scheme for day workers or prostitutes. I still think that’s really the capitalist goal.

No way in hell I’d trust it in a car. They all occasionally get suicidal. Mine likes to lull you into a sense of false security, then take a sharp turn into a channel marker or cargo ship at the last second.

They’re best when targeted at building high density housing, but can be used to develop single family suburbs.
The key is that you have to time limit their ownership of single family homes, and require the sale to individuals. That forces them to build and sell, they make money, the market expands, houses stay affordable. For high density buildings they have to be limited to a portion of the area market, including all corporate owners. Which again forces them to build and sell, and also keeps competition in the market, to avoid price fixing.
I said nothing about being disarmed, or losing.
Pretty sure I pull up with a semi full of fertilizer and I’d be their bestest friend.
I didn’t say armed resistance doesn’t work. I said your gun isn’t going to work.
If the government comes for me, they’re bringing more people than I can shoot. The first answer to that, is to prevent that from happening through political action. The second is that you don’t respond to that with a gun.
Everyone on Ruby ridge was armed, everyone in Waco was armed. They’re all dead for their troubles. A gun won’t fix that problem.
I don’t know, every time I drink that much I forget.

As a coder, the majority of my job isn’t writing code. It’s translating the bullshit management says and the broken specs we’re given into what they both actually want, not what they said. There is never going to be an AI that fixes that
I’d bet the reason it took them a year to get engaged is half because it took all the lawyers that long to negotiate the terms.
