I kinda got grandfathered into Youtube Music by using (and enjoying) Google Music, and since YT Premium was only like $2 more, I got it. I primarily use it for the music. The no-ads is just a bonus for me, I guess.

If you aren’t ready to fully commit to installing it on a hard drive, you could probably make a live USB stick of Linux. There are installers built to run on windows that will install Linux onto a USB drive, which you can boot from after turning off your PC. That way, you don’t need to worry about wiping or resetting an old computer just to see if you like it.
Unfortunately, most Windows users are not tech savy and will never move to Linux, regardless of how user-friendly Linux becomes. It would take large-scale retailers switching their computers to have Linux pre-installed instead of Windows before any meaningful transition happens.
I always thought this one was pretty… WEIRD…
Being a kid with ADHD, all of them. Each and every service drove me to the brink of insanity. I stopped going once I was old enough to decide for myself.
They’re against pornography, not prostitutes. There’s a difference, I guess.
It’s just different scammers now.
Earth comes from OE, which comes from Proto-Germanic, which comes from Proto-Indo-European. Seperate from the Latin “Terra”.
I like how this article ends up describing the difference between naming Earth as opposed to other planets and the more in-depth etymological explenations of all the names.
Sorry, I find etymology interesting, and the original post caught my attention, so I felt compelled to point a few things out.
TLDR: article is clickbait title, which goes on to explain the etymological origin of the name “Earth” coming from Old English, and other dead languages have other names for Earth such as “Terra”.
The oldest possible record for the term “Earth” comes from Proto-Indo-European “Er-”, which means ground or soil.
I got grandfathered into YouTube Music since I was using Google Music when it got shut down. While not as good as Google Music, YT Music works well for me and has been building playlists suited to what I want to listen to. Plus, some lesser known local artists that only have their music on YouTube as video uploads will still show up on YouTube Music. I haven’t really tried any other serious streaming platforms, and only YT Music and Spotify natively sync to my car with maps.
I’m diggin’ the style of this manga. Have a source?
I think Nvidia is noticing Microsoft killing it’s OS for gamers and enthusiasts, and is worried AMD will overtake them when people switch to Linux.
I’m pretty sure that has been able to be emulated and run through most emulation software now. These Star Wars games had specific code and drivers that, when I looked up why it wouldn’t emulate years ago, had not been cracked open to get the source code to enable people to program it into emulation software.
The keyboard controls are very janky. You’d have to do custom button mapping with a controller, and there’s no analog input. At least not without some mods that I’m not sure exist.
IIRC, the original cartridge had an extra chip in it that emulation hasn’t been able to use. I’m not sure if any progress has been made on this and a few other games that used these.
I wore some of these at work for a while to listen to music, since earbuds were an OSHA safetey issue.
I leaned about these from the Soundband Kickstarter over a decade ago, whoch I backed. None of the backers ever got a product, as it seems the creators dropped the project and ran with the money. Those ones had the bone-conduction wrap around the ear. Instead of sit on the bone in front of the ear.
Edit, to add a few points:
I saw everyone flipping out over the pointless microtransactions in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Why am I not seeing the same level of hate for this, or more? This means that the content is already complete and in the game, yet simply made inaccessible by way of timed release and possibly paywall.
Nobody earns a billion dollars. It can only be stolen and exploited from other peoples’ labor.
I’ve solved this problem by simply being scheduled 7 days a week for the rest of eternity.
