it “[fell] far short of the greatness” of Fallout 4 and Skyrim
Hilarious to read this, considering how much trash talk I heard about FO4 soon after its release.
People also spent years talking about how bad ESO is, and when I finally played it … it’s great, just like FO4.
I’ll be interested to see how/if opinions change about Starfield over time. I’ll still wait to play it because I’m a patient gamer, but I’ve come to distrust anyone’s takes about Bethesda games.
He sees you when you’re sleeping
I’d love something like this.

There are no games I really care about that much tbh. I’ve never been someone who needs to play a certain game
I recorded hours and hours of Headbangers Ball on mine
And I think I might have used the exact tapes in the picture
You need anything taped? Scotch had your back.
Aha mission accomplished ;)
For a lot of people, chips are a treat, and they buy only a single bag occassionally
You’re welcome. Maybe I’ll see you in the forums someday, inshallah.
I’m that average Joe! In fact, I’m using Linux Mint, which is extremely easy to use and navigate. In fact, I’ve found it much easier to learn than Windows.
So far, I haven’t missed anything. I mostly stream content and use the internet. I haven’t tried much gaming, but it seems to be well supported.
My only barrier I’m aware of for gaming are multiplayer games that require anti-cheat software, but I don’t play such games anyway.
There are a few other little things. For example, since I use my mini PC for content streaming, I had to connect it directly to the TV via USB and use a wireless keyboard to navigate since that’s my primary way to watch movies. (Screen mirroring isn’t supported.) Another example is Proton VPN works on Linux but behaves weirdly. If I forget to disconnect, then next time I launch Linux I have to manually reconnect to wifi, which is weird, but the forums helped me immediately.
The Linux Mint forums are super good: https://forums.linuxmint.com/
So yeah, I literally just started using it, and my experience has been much less frustrating than trying to wrestle with Windows.
Edit: Linux Mint Cinnamon is what I’m using.
My thoughts exactly. Whatever small sacrifices I may have to make by switching to Linux are vastly outweighed by having an OS that doesn’t harvest my data and which has a community that actually cares and provides real support.
Windows 11 was my tipping point. I have to use it at work, and there’s no way I’d install that on my devices at home.
I’m already running Linux on my laptop and mini PC.
I didn’t want to say so, but this is true! Of course, I’m so happy for him most of all, but he’s also so much more approachable when he’s getting enough sleep and when his PTSD isn’t kicking in.
My husband has PTSD induced insomnia. THC has helped him IMMENSELY with both the sleep and the nightmares. He used to take several heavy prescription drugs, but now he only uses cannabis. It’s made a huge difference in his quality of life.
Not an ad, but pretty questionable for a YouTuber to put a plug for their sponsor as the frontmost text, when many of us use sponsorblock to actively avoid seeing such content.
At least it’s a good warning not to click that link.
I left beehaw because I was being targeted by a user using gaslighting and lies.
When I responded to this user (I will admit, too strongly), the mods removed my comments, but left his initial lies and gaslighting up, even though I had reported them (and even messaged one of the admins directly – it was actually a beehaw admin’s actions against my comments.) To be clear, I understood the removal of my comments, but I did not understand why the user’s lies and rudeness against me still remained.
I mentioned tumblr because it was where the information I was sharing had initiated, and I encouraged people to take the discussion there, since a productive discussion was no longer possible here. I never said I was moving there myself.
I then removed the rest of my comments and posts on beehaw.
I was already on tumblr, so I didn’t “move from” Beehaw to there. I was also already on this account, so nor did I move here – I was already here all along, where I’ve had no similar problems.
