It has always been so confusing to me that people don’t seem to grasp that giving intravenous drug users a safe place to use with clean needles also makes them safe. Now you don’t have used needles all over and the wider spread of bloodborne pathogens, which doesn’t just affect users. Also, now you can shit in public bathrooms.
The level of risk is not quite that severe for healthy individuals. People at high risk certainly shouldn’t take any chances, though.

This 100% fits the definition of a hate crime. Someone’s appearance does not tell you anything about their genitals, which is why this bathroom nonsense could never play out in reality. Her appearance may be more “masculine,” but she is female and identifies as a woman. I have a strong suspicion that the reaction of these degenerates would have been the same or worse had she used the men’s restroom. They desired to hurt lgbtq+ people, and no bathroom decision would have changed their actions other than to make it worse.
That’s fair. I may generally be a bit over suspicious at times, but the apps definitely struck me as off very early on. As to charging men, while it does suck, I get it. It similar to “ladies’ night” at clubs (do they still do that?). It isn’t hard to get men in the door, but it is significantly harder to get women to attend, oftentimes due to some of the behaviors exhibited by the men. With the gender differences on app usage, it would likely drive that disparity even higher if they charged women.

Bubble wasn’t around when I last engaged with dating apps, though I wouldn’t give any app the benefit of the doubt, including in any conceivable future. While there are exceptions to the rule, as you mentioned, I’d say most people will be better off without dating apps, with or without a partner.
I can’t speak to women’s experiences, but as a man, it was pretty clear that these apps were dogshit designed to steal information while keeping you engaged with bots so they can further steal from you, including financially. Much like Facebook, I was an early rejector of dating apps, and I’ve been proven correct on both fronts. From what I can tell, the tech has only gotten better at taking advantage of lonely/stupid men. While dating isn’t really a concern for me anymore, when I was actively dating, it was never difficult to meet women. It just requires a willingness to be open and accept rejection. Also, be willing to cut off interaction for relationships that aren’t healthy. It’s better to be alone than in a shitty relationship.

I hope so! Back then, they had their collaboration with HTC. Unfortunately, the performance just didn’t justify the cost. I’ve been interested in VR and AR for quite some time, so I look forward to when the tech is both worth the cost and offered by a company I can at least justify giving my money.
Hopefully they sell off quest so we can maybe get a company not so dead set on invading privacy in the VR market. I swore off Facebook in 2007 due to privacy concerns, and it is unfortunate that they purchased Oculus in 2014 and became the leader in the space. This literally happened just as I had come into a position where I actually had disposable income and was interested in VR.
