My thought was that the video loading probably isn’t going to be nearly as fast as TikTok because of the money behind their servers and optimization.
Tired metric joke
For reciprocal holidays like Christmas, giving cash maybe gets a little too close to exposing the pointlessness. I give you cash, then you give me cash, what are we doing here? And what if I gave you less than you gave me?
A gift card does indicate I thought a little bit about what the recipient might like, even if I know it would be impractical for me to make a choice on the recipient’s behalf, or that my gift wouldn’t be sufficient to cover a typical purchase in whole. (Thinking like gaming systems, expensive handbags etc)
All that said, I generally agree, I’m not crazy about gift cards.
Go Netherlands
I just switched to Reaper. This was a couple years ago so maybe it’s better now, I don’t know.
Lol spending hours and days is correct but for me it was spent on trying to get the signal from your interface to actually reach the program and then figure out why there’s so much latency.
My friend working at a major museum in the U.S. brought me up to the roof once, and as we were walking down dusty dimly lit halls he pointed out some pole weapons which were determined to be fake but the conditions of the donation were that they had to keep everything, so they were just leaning in a corner.
Nothing because I would punch the nerd bookseller and take the book rather than answer a riddle
Yeah, who are they calling apex predator, take a look around.
Yeah that’s pretty dystopian. Something worse hasn’t been done with it probably just because many bad actors haven’t been aware its an option.
Very satisfying
Yeah, state of the art may have changed since then, but since you can’t see the bite and a test on a human wouldn’t show anything until it’s too late, the options were either have a lab test the bat or get precautionary rabies shots.
Horrible. Understandable that a parent may not know the risk involved.
Only reason I know was when I worked at a summer camp they hammered into us that if a bat was found in a cabin we had to catch it for testing, or else everyone staying in that cabin would get rabies shots.
It’s a Jesus thing you wouldn’t understand.
I used to have a variety of Christian shirts with “cool” phrases on them
I remember seeing some of this stuff when it came out and thinking “why are they doing this?” A bunch of it I never heard of, and a handful I wish had seen success (Firefox OS). Not sure how this counts as a hit piece, it didn’t seem mean spirited and definitely didn’t seem to be misrepresenting anything.
I’ve seen a few people shit talk discord without expanding, so I will: it’s a proprietary “public space” that’s not web searchable. I don’t mind something like a community/subreddit oriented around a physical place, but I try to avoid supporting spaces that are owned by private capital. Of course that’s nearly impossible, but there are degrees of enclosure.
But I don’t want my devices to be bombs
I didn’t take the image to be showing a macbook, it could just as easily be my computer or probably many others.
I think it would have helped for the person who posted that to include context, but I would guess they were linking because it also talks about how Kagi isn’t privacy focused.
