Did you bother to look into it at all? What you are asking doesn’t even make sense from a design standpoint.
Nobody asked for a car you can print.
The way they are building their electric truck is the smartest way. Using available, off-the-shelf parts that have proven reliability. Nobody is going to be using CAD to create custom parts. Reinventing the wheel is precisely the problem and Edison Motors is working to avoid those mistakes.
Also, they are taking design input/feedback at the consumer level right now, BEFORE they have a ‘completed’ product to purchase. This is as close to open source as you can get in my opinion.
You could literally buy the same parts out of a warehouse and build a logging truck yourself if you wanted to.
Or you can sit on the internet and complain without having any idea what you’re talking about.
Edison Motors would be my bet.
That guy is doing some seriously cool open source shit on a HUGE scale (electric logging trucks). I’m sure once they perfect the process they will move into the car and truck market.
His media channels and shorts are always great, even if you have no knowledge or interest in the logging industry.
Because it used to be enforced. You would actually get jaywalking tickets. Also tickets for drivers who don’t stop for pedestrian crossings. So if you go to a marker for pedestrians (with or without lines) the cars will stop and let you cross. Nobody is slowing down for random bozo in the middle of the street though, so there’s no point in jaywalking. It takes longer to cross that way.
Cascadian here to confirm. Throw on an insulated flannel and a pair of muck boots and you can stay in your pjs when you chore in and out.
How long does it take you to die?
I’m in a similar situation. Have tried to get where you’re at, but have been quoted in the $30,000 price range. There is no insurance that covers any of that cost, and they all want payment up front.
Any suggestions?
Ignoring the snark in your comment…
I assume you take issue with UBI?
Would you feel different if we ‘required service’ for UBI? For example, some countries have mandatory military service. If we nationalize these giant corporations, we could make working there a way to qualify for UBI.
Do you think UBI is just taking money from the average person and giving it to lazy people who do nothing? Or do you enjoy the separation of the rich while the rest of us struggle for scraps? Do you understand that the UBI would apply to you as well?
Or am I missing deeper thoughts given to your comment?
How would there be thousands? There aren’t thousands of nations, and everyone would still use Google.
If you break it up, that’s how you get thousands of shitty versions.
Maybe some countries might disable Google if it was owned by the US, but I have a feeling those countries already have their own issues with Google as it stands now.
I just think if the monopolistic corporations are too big and too essential to take down, then nationalization is a solution with many more positive traits than negative.
Don’t ‘break it up’, nationalize it, and do the same with all these other giant corporations.
Profits could support UBI instead of encouraging billionaires.
I once said that children who steal can be rehabilitated or taught to be productive members of society.
Downvoted to oblivion while everyone else celebrated the death of 3 kids because “all thieves deserve to die”.
I worked for a low income apartment complex that started doing AirBnB. It’s already a 2-3 year waiting list to get a rent controlled low income apartment but they were taking units off the market because they could make more money renting them by the night.
I did maintenance for a low income building. They would have me upgrade specific units so they could Airbnb them while they denied low income applications to keep those units empty. Disabled people who needed housing were denied because it was more profitable to leave it empty and rent it out to tourists a few times a month.
We also didn’t do maintenance on specific units in order to get tenants to move out. There was a specific unit that was given to new tenants that would routinely flood. They used it to get rid of people that complained too much. If you only complained a little and cooperated with their bs, you could eventually move to a unit that stayed dry all year.
Most of us consider not living check to check as living a life of luxury.
Can I pick where they put my extra finger?
Imagine being unemployed and looking for work.
I have to answer every call.
Every call is spam. The number of calls I get has increased tenfold.
I’m certain that some of these jobs and recruitment sites aren’t actually hiring for anything. They are just collecting and selling my data.
At one point the VA assured me that a veteran’s medical debt is to the government and is not released simply because the veteran passed away.
Even things like the cable bill took months to resolve because we didn’t want to pay for services that weren’t needed after death. (It’s hard to find and cancel every account for someone who died and didn’t keep track of things.)
I bit my tongue, thanks
