Yep I was thinking the same. I guess it’s a generational thing. Instagram is maybe like water to some young people, can’t be without it or life is sad.
Looking for an alternative to reddit

Link doesn’t work. Probably it’s a scam/hack attempt.
Frostpunk 2 is about politics. I hated it and don’t play it at all. It’s not even similar to the first amazing game. You may be disappointed unless you like politics.
Probably for the best. Most of us die if there is a nuclear war, so just don’t even think about it. But live your life now.
I don’t think the world can prioritize something and the threat will go away.
I’m thinking I have 20 more years of being in working condition, so I’m planning to work less and travel more from next year already. Using my savings.
I don’t dare to wait until I’m 65 to do all those things. Many people get sick and don’t do anything.
You are describing me. :)
And yeah, I’m happy with my timeline. If anything, I would move it back even more. Born in the 60s would open up for a lot of cool stuff in the 70s.
Oh shit, should have checked the majority opinion before posting!
Whats your opinion on apples?
Well at least social media I guess.
Oh yes, they must be very private.
Lemmy can be like this. Share an opinion people don’t like and it’s like you personally attacked someone. Lol.
Naah Path of Exile 2.
It’s become much more moderated and controlled. I think reddit is actually less controlled. I’m seeing conversations about Swedish immigration that would never be allowed on Lemmy.
On the other hand, I saw that Luigi was not allowed to be mentioned in Reddit now in some subreddit… So… Lol.
All my stuff is on a network drive (movies and other big files). All configuration of apps is in git (their config files).
Makes it easy to start over.
I just reinstall apps I need, it’s so simple with Linux and package managers handling it all.
I live in Sweden. It was common with ethernet connections in the apartments when I was growing up. So not a time machine. But I could be getting the exact year wrong a little bit.
And it was 10 mbit connections, so that’s just about 1 mbyte / second. Still plenty fast when it arrived.
Today I have 500 mbit connection with option for 1000 mbit. It’s common here.
Edit: I asked chatgpt and it was 1999 that the first apartments got 10 mbit / sec connections. So I was off with about 5 years actually.
But you have Netflix and social media… Aren’t you happy? So much fun to spend all energy at work so you sit at home exhausted until the next morning.
1995 or so. My first apartment had 10 mbit/sec internet. Was so cool to download anything in seconds. :)
Sounds like sweden.
The bait and switch classic.
Yup I agree. I also think there is human cloning going on too (it’s illegal but obviously secret organizations are doing it).
Do those clones have souls? It’s even more interesting to me since it’s an attempted copy of a real person.
We won’t find out until cloning is legal, and it won’t be legal until it’s 100% safe. All the failed clones are most likely being terminated in secret.
I’m honestly shocked that you have to ask someone if you can trust him.
He is without a doubt the least trustworthy person on the entire planet. Even less so than Putin i would say.
