Canada is helping to finance two new nuclear reactors in Romania, which that country’s energy minister says will help diminish Russia’s ability to use its energy exports as a weapon.

    I mean this deal is basically corporate welfare for Canadian industry but I guess the political ramifications are nice as well.

    The government has been trying to make Canada a go to country for nuclear power expertise. I guess we will see if it pays dividends.

      We used to actually design and build nuclear power for other countries. Now we merely “finance” it and use our old designs. The Harper government put the final nail in the coffin for Canada’s nuclear power expertise when they sold off AECL.
