It’s also separate from the browser, so you don’t have a single point of failure. Idk about now, but several years ago when I did use the Chrome password storage, a malicious user could retrieve passwords from the browser as long as they had physical access to the computer.
It’s a good idea to stop storing your passwords in your browser and use a password manager instead.
