Premier Scott Moe has cited a month-old poll from the Angus Reid Institute as support for the new provincial policy adding parental permission over pronouns in schools.

Children have a right to privacy and safety. Human rights are not up for popular vote. I’m sure the residential schools also polled very well in their day.

Honestly fuck the Sask party for this. I am a teacher in Sask and kids changing their pronouns is a 100% non-issue. They do this while ignoring the issues we’ve raised in contract negotiations.

50±1.5% agree doesn’t seem like “support” to me, especially coming from Angus Reid on a conservative issue. This seems like a draw at best.

I didn’t see full results from that article but that’s a really thin platform to base this policy on.

It wouldn’t matter if 100% of parents polled agreed. That’s just 100% of people who can go fuck themselves.

If your kid doesn’t share their gender with you that’s a you problem to be worked on.

I was just happy it wasn’t a Twitter poll. Maybe I’ve been in Saskatchewan for too long.
