    This has been building up for a lot longer than that. Some people post to Reagan, but it’s even older than that. I’d put it back to the early televangelist starting to get involved in politics. Swaggart, Graham, Roberts, Hubbard, Bakker, Falwell, and especially Pat Robertson. Bastard even tried to run for president.
