A hover fly, not hovering.
It landed right on my gate as I was about to open it this afternoon, practically begging to have its portrait taken. Look at that beautiful compound eye.
The reason for my “bug” posts is so that they know that I know.
In all seriousness it’s a great shot, look at that little fur(?) around the torso, looks like a fluffy jacket. Almost cute, I’m not an insect person but this is interesting
