So ive said a lot of shit about America since their dive into insanity. But I’ve ran into relatively normal people that now view America as a pure enemy. Like really calm people that have told Americans to their face that if they step into canada, with the intention of invasion, they will be met with a bullet to the head. And more then a few that legitimately know how to cause mass destruction. I don’t think our neighbors to the south really understand just how fucked they made this relationship. I’m just understanding that my hot head position isn’t too far from the norm.

I forgot to make this interactive, really what I’m saying is have other people ran into this? Where your gut reaction of let’s end them as a country has now bled into the people around you that you wouldn’t think thought like that?

Jesse Brown from Canadaland had long lamented Canada’s inability to define itself except in contrast to Americans. He’s right that we ought to have more positive identity markers but I think it has inadvertently resulted in a very robust independence sentiment. Ie because so much of our identity is defined as differences relative to America the idea of being American is offensive to the core of our identity.
