Damn, you got drip
Legitimately nice fit.
Not sure I get the bag though, to be honest.
I like your accessories. Normally I don’t like mismatched socks, but it really works with this outfit.
That’s a fire fit, rock on !
What a dashing Scotsman
Are we sure its a true scotsman?
Hes probably a false scotmann
Ultra stylish, love it!
Hawt
I love the whole look, and especially the stripes on just one calf! Drawing the eye to the gray zone so we don’t miss the doggie bag! The leggings/socks combo keeping you warm and also covered in case the December wind blows your skirt up. Or in case you just want to do a twirl! Pockets in the jacket in case your hands get cold.
10/10
Agreed, but it’s actually called a “puppy purse” otherwise, excellent description.
One of my moms favorite stories about my childhood (I was like 6), is that I wanted to wear a skirt, like my sisters, to a wedding.
She had to explain to me that boys don’t wear skirts.
Only for a scottish man to be at the wedding, wearing a kilt. I apparently got very cross with mom for lying to me.
oh speaking of, yesterday I was looking at an alt punk skirt with like a metal chain and spikes on it.
In the reviews there was this real manly man wearing it next to his significant other with the caption along the lines “I got invited to my buddies Scottish wedding, but I am not Scottish. So I got this. 5 stars.”dude was rocking it fr 🔥
I love this story, and thanks for giving me another reason to appreciate Scottish nonconformity.
It’s not really nonconformity, it just conforms to a different set of fixed gender-specific clothing rules.
Yep. I’d imagine a lot of people would consider some middle eastern male clothing to be dresses as well. It’s all just perspective.
Meanwhile I just wanna rock a linen thobe
Without putting much though into it my mind immediately labeled this a kilt. A big belt buckle could add nicely, but then again it’s complete as is.
Definitely a skirt, not a kilt. Kilts are flat in front and pleated in the back/sides, usually with a sporran, and pretty much always tartan; the only time I’ve seen someone wear a solid-colour kilt is in pictures of Americans cosplaying with “tactical kilts”.
The first kilt I wore (UK pipe band) was an Irish saffron kilt - just a single colour.
Fair, but since I didn’t see you in that kilt my statement still stands
Oh, I didn’t realise the only kilts in existence were the ones you’d personally inspected.
Learn something every day!
I love your androgynous look!
I’m not seeing much of a fashion community on here but there’s a streetwear one that might really enjoy this :D
Everyone, everywhere… should wear what they dare.
Whole ensemble looks great! Gender clothing rules are stupid, rock that shit!
Had to look hard to even notice the skirt past the mismatched socks. 🤷
That’s an asymmetrical pair. If it throws you, that’s intentional. Clearly this isn’t a person who wants to lull you with their conformity.
Is the dog going to be okay?
No dogs were harmed in the making of this photo.
What about the making of that bag? Kind of looks like a dog…
Skirt and socks should be black so the bag can be your accent piece.
I love how the only criticism here is fashion-oriented color theory. This is a special place and you all are great. Thanks for this comment.
I love talking fashion and giving outfit ideas! Wish we had communities for that here lol
Yeah, me too. We’ll get there. It will just take some time.
I’m actually inclined to disagree, I feel like the outfit would be unbalanced and the white trim and doggo purse competing. The white socks at least offer a bit of balance to the look imo
I agree! Making the skirt and socks black would make things too busy on the top/top-heavy.
Maybe just change the skirt color to navy or black so it provides contrast with the purse (which is definitely the statement piece)
The purse is a statement, but one should always be able to put it down and still have a dramatic flair.
You know what? I like this better than my suggestion
But wouldn’t you say the dog bag is a statement? Otherwise, why not go with a more conventionally shaped bag? The skirt color (at least in the picture) really takes away from the bag imo.
I am also a fan of symmetry and the three white stripes bug me in a way the white trim does not.
The statement is that it isn’t a statement. An understatement, if you will.
It’s a big part of looking classy. Why wear a diamond studded gold watch when you can wear a normal looking watch that those in the know will recognize as expensive?
Same principle. You don’t necessarily notice the bag immediately, so when you do notice it you get to appreciate the outfit a second time. There’s layers, which makes it sophisticated. Classy.
