  • With such sharp partisan divides, the GOP having unified control and the rich having a vested interest in keeping this dead horse of an economy alive, that’s not a realistic option.

I guess what I meant was, how do even GOP critters stand for this? It’s supposed to be the party of law and order, and they behave like servile little yes-men fascist enablers.

I’ve never had any great love of the Republican party, but even I admit that the staunchest traditional Republicans had 10 times more morals and principles than those MAGA asswipes and would have done something about their rogue fascist racehorse with the Democrat minority. The current crop of fake Republican magats is appalling. That’s what’s truly unbelievable.

  • Er… duh.

Facebook’s entire business model consists in invading as much of everybody’s privacy as possible and monetizing people’s private data. Its “products” are just honeypots to attract marks to milk for private data. You didn’t really think they turned a profit selling electronic sunshades did you?

If someone is stupid enough to buy a pair of those and put themselves under surveillance by Facebook, it’s their problem. But if I ever see anybody looking at me with those glasses on their face, they’d better remove them pronto when I ask them to or I’ll become bellicose rather quickly.

  • some of them have shown you they’re Nazi sympathizers

It’s been known for years that the magats are Nazi sympathizers. And if you had any doubt, very senior figures have warned everybody very bluntly that Trump was a fascist.

So if any of your friends and family was a Trump sympathizer, you should have known long before the election that they were at least Nazi-adjacent.

Therefore the only difference between this reality and the one in which Trump is six feet under is that the American 4th Reich hasn’t happened yet in the latter (but most likely will, because Trump is only a symptom of something deeper and profoundly disturbing in the American society).

  • Answering a question other than the one that was asked is a common avoidance technique used by politicians. It allows then to simulate a conversation and fill the air without actually saying anything.

Paying a modicum of attention to the actual content of what a politician says and rating how relevant what they say is to the matter being discussed is a very effective way to quickly determine whether you’re watching a guy with real convictions you want to vote for or a con artist.

I don’t find Poilievre’s performance wild so much as depressingly common.
